Chapter 94
hati looked at Wedge who sat in the control room in a meditation stance. She understood she shouldn't disturb him, although her mind was full of questions about what Ian Tydon had done. It had been so awesome, so amazing and she didn't understand how it was possible that the Force could cure such terrible wounds. Master Ian had retreated to some of the many quarters. He had looked very tired, but there also had been satisfaction in his eyes. He was convinced that he could make sure that Master Whain wouldn't die.
Wedge came out his meditation stance and stretched his legs. He looked at the young woman in the other corner of the couched and he sensed her curiosity.
"You've a good job, young padawan. I'm proud of you," He said with a smile.
"You don't blame me, for using the stunning on master Whain. Threepio said I should ask you or master Luke first, but I felt there wasn't time to do that. I had to make the decision myself, so I told Artoo use a very low dose. It work, for master Whain immediately relaxed. I checked if I could feel a heartbeat, for I want to be sure that he had survive the dose."
"You don't have to apologize, Chati. You did well. You stemmed most of the bleeding and that's what mattered."
"Master, what master Ian did, is that also the knowledge a Jedi has to learn?"
"No, Chati. Only some Jedi Knight develop the skills to be a Jedi healer. I don't have those skills and neither does Luke Skywalker, but Shaayla-Car and her brother Tama-Hin have inherited those abilities from their mother Severini Solichor. Their mother once was the Jedi healer in the Jedi temple on Coruscant, before the building was partially destroyed during the Great Purge, when most Jedi were killed by order of Emperor Palpatine."
"Could you tell me more, master, about what has happened at that time?" Chati asked.
"I will, but not now, for I want you to get some rest like Tama-Hin. You have been taking care of Doran Whain without getting some proper sleep. I'll bring you to Leia's quarter, where you can refresh yourself and take a nap."
"Don't you want me to look after master Whain any longer?" Chati asked, sound disappointed.
"Come with me, young padawan. I'll will show you something which you can use to check if you have stay awake. Tell me how did you check Luke's health when he was practising Jedi Force hibernation."
"That was easy, master. Ben told me that I had to place my hand over his face and touch his temple. Next I had to let the Force tell me if he was alive, for the Force would show me his breathing and his heartbeat."
Wedge rose and took Chati's hand.
"Let's have a look at Doran Whain and I want you to do the same Luke has taught you."
They went to the medic bay and Chati showed Wedge the way how she had used the Force to know if everything was alright with Luke."
She place her hand gently over Doran's face and held her fingers against his temple. Next she tuned in on the Force. Her eyes got a staring look and she cocked her head as if she was listening. After some moments she looked up.
"Master Whain has fallen asleep. He has a more regular heartbeat and normal breathing. I think he feels less pain. This seems good to me."
"It is. You're a fsst learner, Chati. Using the Force this way tells a Jedi the bodily condition of a victim. If there's no great disturbance in the Force no further action is needed and a Jedi just have to wait until the victim comes to or wakes up. You don't have to be much more concerned about this guy. He is doing well. What Tama-Hin has done will help his recovery. So you can now take some rest and let me take care of our patient."
Wedge took her through the corridor to the section where several private quarters were. He slid a door aside and made an inviting gesture.
"This was formerly Leia Organa's quarter when she accompanied Luke on his travels. That was before she married my friend Han Solo. Shaayla-Car has used this quarter afterwards and will certainly be the next permanent user of it, but I'm sure that she won't mind if you make use of it now. Take a long rest and join Tama-Hin and me when you feel refreshed. You should take good care of yourself, for Tama-Him will certainly rely on your help. You should be aware that he also takes his rest and won't exhaust himself during those healing sessions."
"Promise me, master, that you will wake me up when my help is needed."
"Get inside, Chati and don't bother yourself too much."
Wedge gently pushed her inside the private quarter and closed the door. For moment he listened, but then he went back to the medic bay and used the Force to check Doran's condition. Reassured he walked to the control room to get in touch with his former padawan to warn him that he wouldn't be back in the underground caves soon.
'Wedge, did you still not mention to the leaders that their agent has been wounded? Why not?' Leia asked, showing her disapproval.
'Deliberately, Leia. Do you know Doran's relation with one of the leader of the Provisional Council?' Wedge Antilles answered.
'Of course I know, that does not give us the right to withhold information.'
'My first aim was to give Doran a proper treatment, Leia, so I don't have to report that grand-admiral's nephew has been passed away due to an unfortunate accident.'
'Do I understand that Liane is helping him?'
'No Shaayla-Car is still in the underground cave system. Your brother and me discussed several options, including the one you just mentioned, but Shaayla-Car came up with a different one. She convinced her brother to go to the Astræga to cure Doran Whain she has done on Endor. Tama-Hin, immediately understood what she meant and he immediately agreed.'
'Liane's brother Ian?'Leia answered with disbelieve, 'And you assumed that he would have the same skills as Liane.'
'I didn't assume anything, Leia. I am convinced he has. I have stayed with him while he had a first deep Force session at the Astræga. I've seen how he could use his own Life Force to cure the damage the laser blast had cause. Tama-Hin Kenobi might be the son of a famous father, but he also has inherited the same healing skills from his mother Severini. Shaayla-Car convinced her brother, referring how he had been helping curing Teebo, and how he also has been able to use his Force skills as a healer when he accompanied Quelan master Manall who was still suffering from wounds on his back. Didn't master Cornell that those wounds had almost healed. Tama-Hin didn't mentioned that master Manall's recovery was due to his Force use; he only mentioned it to his sister.'
'Did Ian tell you how much time he would need to cure Doran?'
'Leia, stop pushing things. Tama-Hin needs time to help Doran Whain. Let him do that his way. We're not healers, he is, his sister is. After that first session he said that Doran's life wasn't in danger anymore, but he felt exhausted and retreated to take a rest.'
Wedge Antilles sensed Leia's impatience through the Force.
'Leia, we can't rush thing. Luke and Shaayla-Car together with Yarmod are still inside Trevor's abode. They also need time to handle that renegade admiral. I will stay with Tama-Hin on the Astræga for as long as needed. If you want to know more you should contact your brother.'
'I certainly will,' Leia answered still sounding annoyed.
Their connection through the Force ended abruptly. Wedge sighed and wondered why Leia Organa who he surely appreciate, didn't always look at situations form different points of view. She was a Jedi Knight, but sometimes she still reminded him as the leader of the Rebel Alliance she once had been. Wedge went to the medic bay, where to his surprise Ian already took his Force stance to give Doran further help.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
Ian laughed.
"I had a good rest and I did a healing Force meditation, Wedge. You know that we Jedi can tap into the Force to find our own Force healing place. My mother showed me how I could heal myself when I had been severely wounded in Ktafunda. I feel great again and I'm going to give this guy my help. Where is Chati?"
"Also taking a long rest, Tama-Hin. She had been watching and taking care of Doran more than a day without some good sleep. Do you need her to help you?"
"Her presence is reassuring, Wedge. She a wonderful, caring woman."
"I'll wake her up, telling her you need her assistance." Wedge said laughing.
Wedge went over to Leia's former quarter and tapped the door. Almost immediately the door slid aside and Chati looked up at him.
"Tama-Hin wants you to help him again, Chati."
"I'm ready, master. I've done a lot of thinking at first, but I must have fallen asleep."
They both went back to the medic bay where Ian already had gone into a Force trance. He was hovering his hands again above the wound. Chati and Wedge saw how tiny streaks and pulse of blue Force light touched the tissue inside the wound. Chati looked up at Wedge who had put his hand on her shoulder.
'It so unbelievable, master, what master Ian can do. Look those blue pulses are curing the damaged muscles.' She said and stepped closer to the stretcher.
Wedge didn't comment on her words, but stayed in the entrance of the medic bay. He felt a great admiration for the young Jedi Knight who used his particular Force healing skills with ever more confidence.
Darth Golluth looked at the three Jedi he had ordered to meet him in the main cave again. He frowned annoyed.
"Only the three of you," he snarled, "Where are the other two."
"They left," Luke said, "I send them outside on an urgent duty."
"You send!" Darth Golluth yelled, "Who do you think you are, that you can give orders? There's only one who can give orders here, and that me, do you understand."
"Where not your servants, nor your vassals, sir" Yarmod commented.
"You're my prisoners, young man and you will do my biddings" Darth Golluth screamed and grabbed behind the dais.
To Liane's surprise he produced two other Force Pikes and pointed them at the three Jedi.
"This will teach you some respect," He screamed in a breaking voice, while the pikes began to flash strong electric pulses.
Immediately the Jedi ignited their lightsabers and repelled the pulses. Luke stretched out his hand and the Force pikes crashed against the wall and broke, but to his dismay Darth Golluth grabbed two other pikes from behind his chair on the dais. Liane had seen Darth Golluth's move and rushed over to the dais. With a high jump she landed near the chair and pushed it over. Behind the fallen piece of furniture stood a box with an open lid. Darth Golluth had turned around to attack her, but Liane had grabbed a Force Pike herself and held it in front of her, pointing at her adversary.
"Stop it, Trevor, or I will treat you the same way you want to treat me and my friends. Luke, remove that box will you."
The complete box with the remaining Force Pike flew through the main cave and landed near Yarmod and Luke. Slowly Liane walked over to Darth Golluth, still pointing the Force Pike at him.
"Drop those pikes, Trevor. Now, for these are dangerous in your hands."
"You're no longer in command, Lady Vader, like you thought you were on Morantan. The Rebel Alliance hadn't much difficulty to overwhelm you, despite your father had taught the use of the Dark Side. They outnumber you so easily."
"You're spies have informed you well, Trevor, but things have changed, during all your in vain attempts to kidnap me." Liane answered, "I've learned a lot of other things about you and your failure near Solgar, which Darth Vader had to solve."
"You don't know anything, Lady Vader. You were a child when all that happened. The emperor complemented me and send me to Morantan on my request, so I could keep and eye on your father."
For a moment Liane felt defeated, but immediately she reminded herself of what Anakin had told her while he had supported her making the transcription of the investigation. Luke sensed her moment of confusion, but it was Yarmod who interrupted Darth Golluth
"Might be, sir, but I have read some other solid information about it. It could be that you have asked to be send to Morantan, or it was the Emperor who decided that, for he wasn't pleased with the outcome of that battle. He was outraged about your failure near Solgar, about the damage of the Imperial Fleet and about the loss of the imperial ground forces. He investigated thoroughly and ...."
"You weren't yet born when that battle happened, young man. You don't anything about it. Even Lady Vader doesn't know what happened. She only is relying on rumors and false information."
Luke stepped in front of the dais.
"Admiral Matrik, I've once been told that you have been a member of the Praetorian Guard, the Emperor's elite guards."
"That's true, Jedi Skywalker." Darth Golluth answered.
Luke raised his hand and the chair on dais was put upright. Darth Golluth nodded, walked over and sat down.
"Being a member of that elite corps must have been a great honor, didn't it?" Luke continued, making a gesture to Liane and Yarmod to stay some steps behind him.
"It certainly was. You must have met them on the Second Death Star, Jedi Skywalker."
"That right, admiral, but Emperor Palpatine send those special guards away after my father and me entered the improvised throne room on the Death Star. What was so special about those guards, admiral?"
"I will satisfy your curiosity, Jedi Skywalker. The members of the Praetorian Guard were chosen because they could fight in a special way with special weapons like Force Pikes."
"A special way, admiral?" Luke said amiably, "and you also could fight that way?"
"Oh yes, I could, I was a brilliant fighter," Darth Golluth boasted.
"Who could join the Praetorian Guard? Was there a kind of selection?"
"Jedi Skywalker, as a Jedi you know what the Force can do, right? You're a user of the Force, as are these other two who are with you here, although your sister possesses a special kind of Force use. You should be aware of her skills. The other one I don't know, but I don't think he is a real Jedi Knight, although he can wield a lightsaber. You all can. It will be an excellent defense for what I have in mind, Jedi Skywalker. You seem a reasonable person and I'm sure that you will managed to convince the other two to cooperate with me and my plans."
Liane and Yarmod looked at each other. Liane fumed, but she sensed how Luke warned her to stay calm and elusive. Luke himself remain polite and friendly.
'You didn't tell me how someone was selected to become a member of the Praetorian Guard,'Luke said now using his Jedi voice.
"Oh, yes, that's what we were talking about and it's important for you to know, because you and your companions will become my Praetorian Guard in the future. With three real Jedi my elite guard will be even better equipped than the guards who had to protect Emperor Palpatine. You're Jedi Knights, and the Palpatine's guards were susceptible and influence by the Force, but they weren't able to use the Force like you, as a Jedi Knight, do."
Luke nodded in understanding.
'Admiral, so once being a member of the Praetorian Guard you are a Force user yourself He said disarming.
Darth Golluth looked at the young Jedi suspiciously.
"That's right, I am, and that's why I want your sister to teach the knowledge of your father. I want to become a Sith Lord, like Palpatine."
Luke changed the subject of the conversation.
'Admiral, after what happened on Solgar Emperor Palpatine assigned you to the staff on Morantan. Do you know what was the reason for his decision?'
"The emperor asked me to keep an eye on your Father Darth Vader, for he was in doubt about your father loyalty."
Imperial Fleet was defeated near Solgar, but Darth Vader effectively suppressed the insurrection of the Solgarians, after which the Empire took control of the planet. Nevertheless, the emperor forgave you the defeat of the Imperial Fleet, you kept your rank as admiral, and he assigned you to the staff on Morantan. Didn't that feel as a demotion.'
"You're quite understanding, Jedi Skywalker. Yes, I was disappointed when I heard about my assignment. However I didn't know that Morantan was holding the special domains which Darth Vader was in command. So instead that it felt as a demotion I considered my new post as a victory and a way to revenge myself."
'A way to revenge yourself, admiral? In what way?' Luke asked with an innocent tone in his voice.
"Jedi Skywalker, I've never spoken of what I'm going to tell you, but because you will be the head of my elite guard, you have to know."
Darth Golluth seemed to have forgotten the presence of the other two Jedi as he spoke again while Luke had completely enthralled him with his Jedi voice.
"The emperor investigated what happened near Solgar and specifically what my role had been. You must know, Jedi Skywalker, that the Imperial Fleet had been sent to Solgar under my command, because the emperor was convinced that I, as a Praetorian Guard and a Force-user, could easily destroy the Solgarian communities and take possession of the planet. However the Solgarians got help from a group of resistance fighters and I had to retreat. I went back to Coruscant to report about what had happened. At first I was held responsible, which felt as a humiliation. I asked for an audience with the emperor which was granted. When was brought before emperor Palpatine your father Darth Vader stood next to the emperor's throne. I began to plead my case, but Darth Vader roughly interrupted me and encircled me with a wall of lighting. I heard the emperor laughed, praising his second-in-command. The lighting vanished and I was brought back to the my apartment. I felt very strange, as if something had changed me, but I paid no further attention. The next day I was got back the distinctive which belong to my rank as admiral. I went back to my homeplanet of Arjonor where I spend several leisure weeks, but the emperor called for me again and he told me that he had a very special assignment for me: I was assigned to the staff on Morantan where Darth Vader was the commander and overseer. The emperor had heard rumors that his second-in-command had taken his own dark apprentice. I had to report the emperor about the matter. I was transferred to Morantan and made my acquaintance with Darth Vader and also with his apprentice: a young girl about thirteen or fourteen years old. I attempted to influence the girl's mind as a Force-user, so she would tell me what skills she had developed as Darth Vader's dark apprentice, but I wasn't able to penetrate her mind with the Force. I couldn't influence her, so my conclusion was that the girl didn't possess any Force skills and that Darth Vader was cheating on his master. It all felt very odd. I send a report to Coruscant after which the emperor announced that he would personally visit Morantan. After his arrival he interrogated the girl and to my surprise she responded exceptionally well to all his Force use. When he left he complimented me for reporting on the girl's progress. I reminded him that I had mentioned in my report that my own attempts to influence the girl with Force-use hadn't been successful. He didn't comment on my remark and went back to Coruscant, promising the girl that he would send for her to complete her training. The next years I sometimes tried to influence her every now and then, as it seemed that she made tremendous progress with her own Force use as a Sith. She became as evil as Darth Vader, especially after he commanded her to kill one of the officers who had been trying to abuse her. She did well and Darth Vader seemed very pleased with her progress."
Liane couldn't no longer be silent.
"That's lie, Trevor. A big lie. I didn't kill, Anakin killed Tijan."
Darth Golluth looked at Liane for a moment, but Luke made a gesture to her to stay silent.
'That's different story, admiral. You must tell about that later on. However, haven't you been thinking about the matter why you couldn't influence the daughter of Darth Vader, while he and the emperor could.' Luke asked still using his Jedi voice.
"Oh, yes, I have done and I still can't understand why I, a member of the Praetorian guard, couldn't control a girl of her age."
'You've never thought back about what happened in the emperor's throne room when Darth Vader encircled you with a wall of lighting.'
"No, for the effect of the lighting vanished almost immediately. Nevertheless, it's still puzzling that I'm unable to make use of my Force skills the way I could before. There must be an explanation, maybe you can help me to restore my Force powers, for that would give me control of my future plans."
'Admiral do you still have the intention to revive the Empire and become a Sith lord yourself.' Luke asked, avoiding to comment to Darth Golluth suggestion.
"Be sure of that, Jedi Skywalker, and I will be a more powerful Sith lord than your father or emperor Palpatine and you, Lady Vader and that third Jedi are going to help to realize that plan."
'You have shared many confidential thoughts with me.' Luke said now using Affect mind while he took a deep bow.
Darth Golluth immediately responded.
"I have shared many confidential thoughts with you, Jedi Skywalker, but you're a trustworthy person, I guess."
'Now you have to listen carefully to me,' Luke continued and for a moment he looked at Liane and Yarmod.
"Now I have to listen carefully to you, Jedi Skywalker, for I feel that you are going to explain to me why I can't influence Lady Vader and make her do my bidding." Darth Golluth answered while cast an angry glance at Liane.
Luke nodded and Liane stepped next to him.
'I explain why you can't influence me with the Force' She said, using Affect Mind.
"You can explain, why I can't influence you with the Force. Tell me, Lady Vader," Darth Golluth snarled.
Liane tuned in on the Force and spoke further with a penetrating voice.
'Trevor, neither the emperor, nor my foster-father, Anakin Skywalker have ever told you the outcome of the emperor's investigation of the defeat of the imperial fleet near Solgar, haven't they."
"It was no defeat, Lady Vader, I retreated which was the best decision."
'I was asking you about the outcome of the emperor's investigation, because I've heard that he wasn't pleased with your retreat.'
"I was acquitted, Lady Vader. I got back my rank and the emperor assigned me to Darth Vader's staff on Morantan. There we've met the first time."
'Trevor,' Liane started and for the first time she pitied the man in front of her for a moment, 'The emperor's investigation ended with his verdict about who was to blame for what had happened on Solgar. He send Darth Vader to suppress the Solgarian insurrection, annihilate all their communities and took over the planet.'
"That's right. I heard about his lethal action later on. How do you know about all this, Lady Vader. Did he tell you about it? So the emperor's verdict was that Darth Vader had to occupy Solgar one way or the other."
'No, Trevor, the emperor's verdict concerned you. The emperor blamed you for the loss of a large part of the Imperial Fleet and the ground forces.'
"That a lie, Lady Vader. You're making things up. I got back my rank as admiral and became a staff member on your father's planet to keep an eye on him and on you. The emperor rewarded me."
'Trevor, have you ever heard of the Wall of Light.'
Darth Golluth looked shocked, before reacting angrily.
"Are you suggesting that some one has used the Wall of Light on me, because I couldn't influence you?"
'Because you can't influence nobody with the Force, Trevor. You're not able to feel the Force or use her. She's no longer your ally. You just told Luke Skywalker that at the audience with the emperor you became encircled in a wall of lighting. That Wall of Light severed you from the Force. The emperor's verdict was that you never would make use of your Force skills.'
Outraged Darth Golluth came down the dais and walked over to the three Jedi who had already put their hands on their lightsabers.
"There is no proof of what you're telling me, Lady Vader. You were a naive child when I joined the Morantan staff."
Darth Golluth spitted the words nearly in Liane's face who made a step backwards.
'We can provide proof of what the emperor had decreed' Luke answered and closed up to Liane, while Yarmod also stepped closer to Liane.
"Guards," Darth Golluth yelled, while he rushed back to the dais, pressed a hidden panel in the armrest. "kill these intruders, kill them all, show no mercy, kill these traitors. I'm Darth Golluth the new emperor. I will show you what I can do without the Force."
Unexpectedly the wall behind the dais broke away several groups of dozens of heavily armed droids entered the main cave. Immediately they started to fire. Luke, Liane and Yarmod could repel a first barrage of laser blasts using their lightsabers, but when some tens of new group marched into the main cave Luke made a nod of his head and the three Jedi made a high jump to reach the doors.
"Don't let them escape! Kill them! Kill those Jedi, all of them!"
Yarmod used Force Push to crash several droids against the cave wall, while also the doors swung open. He teamed up again with Liane who had stepped in front of Luke.
"Get out of here," Luke screamed holding Doran's device in his hand, pressing the secret code. To Darth Golluth surprise and dismay more than half of his killer droids stopped firing and became limp after which they crashed on the cave floor, blocking the progress of the pursuing droids which began to stumbled over their paralyzed fallen comrades. Yarmod grabbed Liane's arm and pulled her through the open doors. Luke immediately followed and slammed the doors shut. They started to run through the maze of caves, making sure that they increased the distance between them and the pursuing droid army. Yarmod took the lead and lead them back to sequence of caves and passageways he had passed through together with Chati and Ian. Every once in a while they stopped, listening to the metallic noises of their pursuers.
"Altus Sopor," Luke said and immediately he became one with the Force, becoming invisible to possible opponents. Yarmod followed and nodded to Liane. For a moment Liane didn't know how to follow her friends. She stood against the wall of the cave, looking distressed.
'Use the Force to camouflage your presence, Shaayla-Car.' She heard Luke say through the Force. She still looked startled but than managed to become completely one with her powerful ally.
'I know where we are,' Yarmod said. 'These deserted caves will lead us to the end of the riverbed.'
'Brilliant, Yarmod. We'll follow you,' Luke said,'Shaayla-Car, stay with us. Yarmod, they won't release the water now I suppose.'
'No, Ian and I would inform your sister if we thought we had to convince the admiral with our last option.'
'Than we can reach the other side without getting soaked,' Luke grinned.
Rushing unseen, protected through Altus Sopor they passed through several passageways and reach the last cave near the wall. Yarmod pointed at some disabled droids.
'We met them shortly after we entered, but they couldn't withstand our lightsabers.'
'We'd better hurry. Trevor's killer droids are still pursuing us.' Liane remarked.
'They won't notice us, as long as we stay connected to the Force.' Yarmod said.
'I've never use Altus Sopor before,' Liane remarked.
'You have, but I didn't mention it.' Luke said.
'I did? When?' Liane asked unconvinced.
'Altus Sopor is a special form of Jedi meditation. You've used it while the Force showed you what really happened to Tijan.' Luke said, 'While you were in that deep Force meditation, you became almost translucent against the wall of the waterfall cave.'
'You didn't tell me,' Liane said.
'The truth the Force showed you was more important. Yarmod, what are those globe on the floor near the wall.'
'The explosive balls. There's the gap through which we can reach the riverbed. Follow me.'
One after another they ducked through the gap in the left corner. Once through Luke released himself from the Force, followed by Yarmod and Liane. Yarmod pointed at the wall.
"We've also attached those explosives on this side. What was left we attached on the floor at the other side." He whispered.
Luke took his lightsaber and made several streak along the opposite site of the wall. Slivers of rocks fall on the riverbed floor. Quickly he shove the slivers in front of the gap.
"Get some more small rock slivers, so I can smooth the gap." He said.
Yarmod and Liane ignited their lightsabers and used the beam to provide some more slivers of rock. Luke pushed the slivers into gap and smooth the surface with the beam of his lightsaber.
"That's enough. I smooth those slivers of rock so they are sealing of the gap. That will keep our pursuers busy for a while until those harvesters will be able to release the water flow. Now let's go. It's a long walk through this riverbed, but even if those droids would find out how we've escaped Trevor's abode we've enough time to reach the other side."
"The water flow will trigger the explosives, Luke, so even if those droids will get into the riverbed, they will be turned into metal scrap." Yarmod said.
Liane looked around and touched the walls.
"So this is the backdoor through which Leia planned to enter Trevor's abode."
"Yes, Shaayla-Car, but Leia send Ian, Chati and me to secretly break through the end wall and seek a way to find where Trevor had been keeping Luke. We managed to reach the cave where Luke was with the help of my old master."
Liane started to laugh.
"I've had several visions about Luke in Force hibernation while I met Trevor and none of them has been what really happened. So, for me too the future will be in motion. I now wonder about my Force vision about a wounded Doran Whain. Probably that vision will also turn out to have a different outcome. It's good to know, Yarmod that Wedge told us he won't come back to Trevor's abode and will stay with my brother."
"I will warn Wedge when we've reached the other end of the underground riverbed safely", Luke said.
"You've lost them," Darth Golluth yelled at the group of droids which had returned to the main cave, "They were running further inside this cave system. They were trapped for there's no way out ...
The former imperial admiral stopped in mid sentence.
"The fissure at that far off cave. They have escaped through that fissure. Follow me I will show how those traitor went away."
Darth Golluth with a small group of his droids following him, ran through the caves to the far end. Darth Golluth stooped end pointed to the left lower corner of the rear wall.
"They must have vanished through there," He screamed. "Look that hole is bigger than it has been before. Follow them and kill them."
The droids bowed their stiff legs and tried to push themselves through the hole. However, none of them managed to get through to the other side.
"It's blocked, master," the leader of the group said. "There's solid rock. We can't get through."
"Solid rock, you stupid mechanicals. I'll show you how you can get through." Darth Golluth yelled and ducked in the hole. He pushed the rock at the rear of the shallow hole but had to return to the cave empty-handed. Puzzled he once again ducked inside the hole, trying to push the rocky wall. He tried several more times in vain.
"They must have tricked me and have run back to leave through the main exit." He murmured, turned around and ran back to the maze of deserted cave without noticing the four droid which had been eliminate. It took him quite some time to reach the main entrance of his abode.
"Where are those droids which should be guarding the entrance," He screamed and turned to the group of killer droids that had followed him submissively.
"Scan the area around here and find those renegade Jedi. Kill them if you find them." He screamed, turning his back on the group and running back through the main corridor to the main cave. In a gloomy mood he entered and walked over to his chair on the dais. Surprised he took a datapad from the lowest step of the dais.
"Ha, those Jedi have forgotten their belongings. Now I have proof of their treason. Let's have a look what's on this device. Where is Colonel Whain? He also seemed to have plotted against me. Never mind, I can do without humans or Jedi. My droid army will suppress all insurrection."
Darth Golluth sat down at his chair and activated the datapad.
"Only one file and no further indication of the owner. Do I have access to read it. Hey, yes, it isn't encrypted."
Paying his full attention to the content he started to read the file's content. The more he read the more his hands began to shake.
'Emperor Palpatine's verdict in the case against Admiral Trevor Matrik. This verdict is being carried out because Admiral Trevor Matrik grossly neglected his duties as an admiral, resulting in serious damage to the Imperial Fleet and the loss of a significant portion of his men. Therefore, Admiral Trevor Matrik is sentenced to the total loss of the ability to use the Force. I sentence the Admiral to be cut off from the Force by the Force Wall of Light. My loyal advisor Darth Vader will executed the sentence in my presence.'
"Noooo!" Darth Golluth screamed, "Noooi!"
He threw the datapad through the air and it crashed against the wall. With a face twisted in anger and disbelief, the former Admiral of the Imperial Fleet stared ahead.
"She knew it! She knew it! Her father must have told her! But I will seek revenge on this whole galaxy. I will plunge this galaxy into a war from which no one will survive," He screamed on top of his voice.
